Office Procedure Reminder

Please be aware that the office staff at NVMS does not make deliveries to classrooms.  If you drop off an item that needs to be picked up by your child, the office will announce over the intercom, only during non-instructional times, your child's name, and ask that they report to the office.  In addition, if your child needs to be picked up during the school day, the office will send a call slip reminder to your child's teacher.  For emergency situations only, if there is no one available to take the call slip to your child's classroom, they will personally go to your child's class.  Therefore, please remind your child to let their teacher know and report to the office at the designated time.  The intent is to minimize classroom disruption with telephone calls and interruptions for the teacher during instructional time.

Regarding Personal Items:  Please remind your child to keep valuables at home.  The school cannot be responsible for these lost or stolen items.  If they choose to bring personal, non-school supply items to school, e.g. cell phones, hydroflasks, etc., they need to be personally responsible for that item.  If possible, have it clearly identified with their name on it.  Please also remind your child about respecting other people's property and personal space.

This is a great time to take advantage of providing learning opportunitites for your child to increase their independence and take on additional responsibilities!
