Aloha Aina Recycle Drive

By Ms. Lori Nakano on January 24, 2017

Submitted by student:  Krysten N

The Recycle Drive on Saturday, January 21st held at the NVMS parking lot was an overall success and benefited both the school and planet earth.  The drive organized by the Kokua Hawaii Foundation made money for the school and provided an eco-friendly way for everyone to dispose of their unwanted belongings.  People brought everything from batteries, to clothing, to old electronics, to typical HI-5 recycling, to even pieces of scrap metal.  We wouldn't have been so successful if we ddin't have the help of all our volunteers!

We want to say thank you to...

All the vendors that came to pick-up everything.

All the people who brought and dropped off their recycling.

The Kaiser Key Club and Niu Valley Student Council.

And a special THANK YOU to Mr. Tajima, Mr. Szkotak, Ms. Hutton, Mr. Tsuruda, Mr. Chun, Ms. Nakano, Mr. Oshiro, and Mr. Iwanaga for helping and monitoring the drive.
