Congratulations to our Lego Robotics team for winning the Project Award and placing 5th at the District competition on November 12, 2016.  This also qualifies the team for the State tournament!  Thank you to Mrs. Janet Itano and Mr. Scott Brown for going above and beyond to put in afternoons and weekends to provide this opportunity for our students!

Many students and staff got dressed up for Halloween.  Dinosaurs, a sumo wrestler, princesses, and many other creative costumes were seen around campus.  Even the administration dressed up as coconut trees since "niu" in Niu Valley means coconut in Hawaiian.

A few Niu News students were fortunate to go to KHNL/KGMB news station to see what a live broadcast is like.  We were given a tour of the news station by Weather Anchor, Guy Hagi.  He gave us tips on what a news caster's job is like.  We also got to sit at the news anchors desk, use the green screen, view the control room, and see all of the tech work that's involved.  The Niu News crew had a wonderful time and got to learn about the skills required to be a professional news anchor and everything that happens behind the scenes that makes the show possible.
