Our 7th grade Social Studies Class in C2A worked very hard in the beginning of the month of September to clear out a piece of land between Q building and C building. With the help of Uncle Tryo Oden, the students experienced what it would be like to grow food in a Mala (dry land garden). They planted Kalo (taro), Uala (sweet potato), and sugar cane - all which are native to Hawaii. They worked for three days on it and they are very proud of their accomplishments and anticipate the fruits of their labor. If and when you have an opportunity to walk on the campus, please come and see what your children have done.
